The history of this craft dates back to before the eighteenth century, when Russian merchants came to the Ural Mountains to trade with locals. Perfect climate conditions in the mountain region make the breeding of this exclusive breed of goats possible.
After the yarn is produced the artisans knit these shawls using manual knitting machines that allow them to create amazingly intricate patterns. Every shawl is unique. Durable yet delicate, they are warm, but at the same time light and airy. Each shawl can be pulled with ease through a wedding band.
