This fine box with a cover is executed in one of the traditional styles of Russian northern handpainting. Intricate patterns combining flowers, leaves, birds, animals and people were widespread in the applied art of Russia. Painting this canister master used classical colors – red, emerald, yellow, black. The box features an young peasant girl and bird holding necklace in the beak.
