The Oil Gilded Mother of God was produced at Monastery, by official icon maker of Russian Orthodox Church Sofrino. This beautiful and famous Icon is considered the protesters of all women who are going to become mothers. The village of Sofrino was mentioned for the first time in the 15th century. Nowadays Sofrino is conspicuous for two sights: the famous estate with the Smolensk Church (17th century) and the only one plant in the country producing plates for the Russian Orthodox Church.
