Winter church scene painted in Kholui style by the artist Teplov.
Very colorful and charming. The landscape with houses drawn on the sides adds to the value. One of the more interesting things in this is a shininess in a patch of sky behind the church steeples. The shininess seems to contain all the colors in the rainbow as you turn the box. It is not mother-of-pearl, though, but some some sort of metal or foil inlay. Looks great on a box like this!
