This charming lacquer piece was created by artist Sedov V.N.
He is a specialist in fruit compositions using the tempera art technique and gold paints in his art work. Laquer miniatures differ from others because of the thin gold scroll work and by the fine technique of execution. The artist believes that his compassionate style is easy to remember due to its detailed painting, themes, colors, paints, and overall quality of his compositions.
The work is called “Fruit-piece”. It is painted in subdued green, red and blue tones and richly detailed with gold paints.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on four rounded legs. Signed with the name of the artist, the village of Kholui and the title.
