These intricately woven linen set features a typical Russian ornament. Ornamental weaving was before, and still remains, one of the traditional folk crafts of the Russian North. Rugs and clothing, bed-spreads, tablecloths and towels were usually decorated with ornamental traceries of home-made pattern weaving. Linen and wool, sometimes cotton were used as raw material.
