The traditional symbol of Russian culture is Matryoshka, which is a set of nesting dolls. Most of them are exclusive author's works made by famous Russian artists. Volkhov matryoshka has been created by National Artist of Russia L. Chicherina.
Volkhov matryoshka unites magical quantity of various colors and hues, which create cheerfullness and positive mood. Before an artist starts his work the wood turner makes a "part blank" which is turned by hand with lathe. Each of these dolls is carefully hand crafted from linden. After pictures are ready, dolls are covered by several layers of a lacquer. The lacquer adds a glint to the doll and defends the pictures. Matryoshka has become a formula of the cultural phenomenon, which on self is complete a sense and wonderful beauty.
