The Matryoshka doll is one of the finest, most famous, and most beautiful of all Russian folk arts. The name itself, "matryoshka" bearing the Latin root "mater" for mother, conjures up the image of the staid, sturdy peasant matron for which Russia is known. The matryoshka doll is over 100 years old.
This Russian Autumn Matreshka is exclusive author's work, consisted of 5 items. Before the painter starts his work the wood turner makes a "part blank". Every doll is turned by hand with lathe. All dolls are made from natural wood. After the pictures are ready, dolls are covered by the several layers of the lacquer. The lacquer adds glint to the doll and defends the pictures.
The main peculiarity of our Autumn Matreshka is its beautiful and detailed paintings. It is decorated in traditional autumn yellow and golden colors.
