In the fifties she made gather whole stadiums of her fans. Lidia Ruslanova was born in 1900 in the remote Russian village. In the age of 5 she lost her parents and was sent to the orphanage. There she sang in the church chorus and for the workers of the factories. The charming young girl in the traditional dress and birch bark shoes with the marvelous voice couldn’t be but noticed. Rapidly she became very popular. During all Second World War she sang for the soldiers on the fronts. In the 1948 she and her husband were arrested and sent to the labor camp where Lidia Ruslanova passed 5 years. This album is a perfect way to approach to the genuine Russian culture!
